Tirzepatide(Brand name: Mounjaro): A newer medication that acts as a dual-agonist, meaning it targets receptors for two important hormones:
GLP-1 (Glucagon-like peptide-1): A hormone that signals satiety (feeling full), regulates blood sugar by delaying stomach emptying, and stimulates insulin release.
GIP (Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide): A hormone that primarily helps release insulin after meals.
Semaglutide (Brand names: Ozempic, Wegovy): An older medication that works as a GLP-1 receptor agonist, primarily focused on increasing insulin production and reducing blood sugar levels.


How They Work

Bremelanotide

Bremelanotide is a medication approved by the FDA for the treatment of Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women. It works by stimulating melanocortin receptors, which are involved in regulating sexual desire.

It is injected subcutaneously (under the skin) in the abdomen or thigh at least 45 minutes before anticipated sexual activity.
